About

Product: Woven products and sewing
Weaving is a normal activity for the Fumor group because almost all women do so but this group also sews, they reuse cloths, fabric, bags that are not used anymore that can be used again and this is a recycling activity to reduce waste. Where the group lives (Makadade) is very difficult to find materials, so the group takes advantage of the market day in Beloi (other village far away from their place of residence) to come to sell goods and also to collect materials such as used clothing, bags and sometimes to buy other materials (e.g. tais, fabric) that are needed for sewing.
Group Profile
The Fumor Group was created in 2016 by Mr. Tomas with the aim of creating self-employment so that it would generate income to pay for the needs of the household. At that time his wife and some young people from his neighbour were involved. The group is now led by his wife, Ms. Ermelinda Soares, and has five members; Ermelinda Soares, who is the head of the group (+ 670 7533 9625), Rosalina de Araujo, who is the secretary and Diana de Aaraujo who is the treasurer.
The Fumor group is the only group of Makadade who has a sewing machine and sewing skills. They work daily to produce a variety of products such as tais skirts, bags, and shopping bags.
